Truth: Barack Obama’s attendance at a Muslim elementary school in Indonesia was discussed in his autobiography, “Dreams from My Father”. It was originally published in 1995. From his book, page 142:
In Indonesia, Id spent 2 years at a Muslim school, 2 years at a Catholic school. In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Koranic studies. In the Catholic school, when it came time to pray, Id pretend to close my eyes, then peek around the room. Nothing happened. No angels descended.
Now everyone can have it.

Full truth with quotes and references in Daniel Pipe’s article.
Was Barack Obama a Muslim?
http://www.danielpipes.org/article/5286
“His former Roman Catholic and Muslim teachers, along with two people who were identified by Obama’s grade-school teacher as childhood friends, say Obama was registered by his family as a Muslim at both schools he attended.”
....
Also read the excerpt in Time mag from Obama’s Audacity of Hope, where he rambles on about his religion:
“In our household the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology.
...
The Christians with whom I worked recognized themselves in me; they saw that I knew their Book and shared their values and sang their songs. But they sensed that a part of me remained removed, detached, an observer among them.
...
It was because of these newfound understandings — that religious commitment did not require me to suspend critical thinking, disengage from the battle for economic and social justice, or otherwise retreat from the world that I knew and loved — that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized. It came about as a choice and not an epiphany; the questions I had did not magically disappear.”
It’s worth reading — it’s NOT a discourse of a religious person, more like that of one who felt he had to pick a religion to advance his political agenda and is justifying it.
