Taxpayer dollars should not be spent on it. If I'm not mistaken, taxpayer funding for SETI was discontinued several years ago. I switched over from SETI to Folding@Home some time back.

Maybe a massive radio antenna tasked to look for 'alien life' is really just a cover? Yep. It's actually Karl Rove's weather/ earthquake machine.

I would be much more sanguine if they would quit looking at Ufology as it’s “competition”. Shostak is an over-educated, self-important dork, and tries (unsuccessfully) to stick it to UFO research all the time.

It's because the aliens are already here and living in Remulak, a small town in France. They don't want to be exposed.

Sure it might be a huge waste of money. But if there is a signal to be found, it would still be interesting to know about it. Even if the senders are long gone.
As money-wastes go there’s way bigger targets anyway.

I think they’re too busy building madrassas, imposing 30 hour work weeks, and buying up US gov’t securities. ;’)

Interesting, the whole premise behind SETI is a wholesale rejection of Darwinist evolutionary theory. Wonder if they ever consider that?
