FR Nascar race Thread road disclaimer..
This thread is for fans of Nascar and was started to Support Our Troops and have a regular place to watch and catch-up on Nascar activity year-round.
It was started 6 years ago and intended to be a fun place for those that enjoy Nascar racing and allow them to have a place at FR where fans can gather on race day to follow along and discuss the race.
This is an all volunteer FR operation and takes no funds from anyone and has no Nascar or sponsor affiliation. It is a family friendly thread and bickering and nitpicking and cussing each other out is highly discouraged here.
It was also started so our military members and families could also drop in and get info and recaps on race results and other goings on in Nascar.
It is NOT a political thread, at least not in off election years and posting of personal political views and rumors re: Nascar and/or drivers is highly discouraged and blatant attempts to stir up controversy will NOT be tolerated.
If you feel the urge building to let it rip or really have to taunt or get peed-off at someone over their driver’s actions or such, Please Take it elsewhere or OFFLINE! I know folks say things in the heat of the moment, a simple apology usually does the trick or we can delete the post.
If you wish to bash, bang on or just say nasty things for the sake of stirring things up about teams and drivers, I recommend you NOT do it without realizing it throws the threads off kilter and I may have to Red Flag the thread and eject the stirrers.;-).
This is a race thread and we all usually have a good time doing the usual banter over the teams and such, just KEEP IT CIVIL!!!
If ya have to repeat your same ‘arguments’ 100 times over, Please Give us ALL a break!
Stuff happens on the track , what looks like one driver’s fault ain’t always the case, so be prudent before ya lambaste or make a comment that isn’t well-thoughtout and respectful to all the thread occupants or is a clear jab or insult.
Posting of inappropriate pictures used in a taunting manner will also result in your post(s) being pulled. This is a family friendly thread, please keep that in mind. There are plenty of other threads to practice your witticisms or haf-witticisms as the case may be. If folks want to start there own race thread, be our guest, we have quite a few regulars that won’t mind, I’m sure.
Please keep the thread on topic as much as possible during the race. We post the current race positions and discussion of what is happening in the race for those that may not have the TV in the same room as the computer. Or, in some instances some may not even have the viewing channel available on their cable.
Also, it seems a few feel like certain drivers get short-shrift while others get preferential treament on the threads. Big frickin’ deal!!! Get over it already. Stuff happens. If you don’t feel the thread is your cup of tea, do us all a favor and move on. No one is forcing you to view or post here.
Beating each other silly doesn’t change a thing that happened and only sullies the thread.
Those who feel this disclaimer limits race analysis and such just need to hone their skills. We do a lot of analysis, just keep it above 5th grade level and cut the whine out.
Obviously folks will see events differently for different reasons when events happen on the track, rather than treating it like life or death, take what good you can from it and try not bashing others with the bad. We are all family, like it or not.
Thanks.. NR
#43 quote: If ya have to repeat your same 'arguments' 100 times over, Please Give us ALL a break!
If somebody drives intoi the wall or cuts another car off, go ahead and say so but don't keep going back to the same issue over and over again.
We'll read your comment, decide if we need to reply but we don't want to read about the same thing multiple times.
Do you understand that what I have repeatedly said is just what we don't want to see?
Norm, please check the link WCG provided above -- IT WASN'T THE NASCAR THREAD!!! It was a different thread! I have always obeyed the rules within this thread.
I am a DEI fan. On this moderated NASCAR thread with rules WCG was calling DEI "TEI." She was calling Teresa a "witch," "wicked stepmother," and those were the nice things! No one said a thing.
On a different non-moderated thread without rules, I got bashed by you and other regulars for calling Junior "a traitor" and Rick Hendrick "a Clintonista" and I got kicked out of the FRFL and off the Ping list!
I made it clear on that other non-moderated thread that my intent was to defend DEI. THAT WAS ALL. You don't want to hear me bash your favorite driver or team? It is easy -- don't bash mine! "What is good for the goose should be good for the ganderette." To this day ten months later I fail to see why that simple, SIMPLE logic is lost on some members here.
Now look since my return here. WCG has compared me to a "jerk coming out from under my rock," and "a problem maker." Those aren't "personal attacks?" Think about that -- I was kicked out of the FRFL and off the ping list for hurting someone's feelings bashing their driver on an unmoderated thread without rules. And yet that same person is allowed to attack me personally on the moderated thread with rules!
And let me be clear, I don't care what she says! I am not blind, I can see what she is. And I can take it just like I can dish it. But I am a principled person and do care about fairness and justice. And please apply the rules fairly, or don't apply them at all.
always got a defense, huh?
ya ought to learn humble, jmo.
and frankly, there are rules, no matter what thread folks are on.. most folks just don’t want to hit the Abuse Button cuz they don’t want to cause trouble,, grab-ass and in yur face don’t play here, got it? all those who are handwringers over teams and would die for them, do us all a favor and do it out back.

Oh, gimme a break, I don’t care, frankly.
Please, Start your own thread, if we are all so unworthy to be students at the feet of some expert out to set everyone right. No one is stopping anyone from doing so, then you can have some real fun trying to herd cats like I do..
You can be your own expert there and speak the unvarnished truth all you want and ‘bash’ and “banish” who you will.
This thread doesn’t seem to mean a damn thing to you except someplace you can come back and bicker and bitch, it never really did and still doesn’t, even if you don’t have WCG to dump on, you’ll find someone else to dump on instead.
Any pretense you came here for fun is so far off the mark, it’s laughable. and then to whine when WCG jabs ya, welll waaaaaaaa... you want fair ? Go down to the local bar and watch races there.. but plug your ears, you might run into some Junior fans there too.

Personal attacks aside,, everyone would be well advised to nip this crap of late in the bud or they will be having to start their own race thread...
NR, can you add me to the NASCAR ping list? I’m fairly new to watching NASCAR (just started this year) and I love it! Thanks.
You got it!
I am completely with you. If you say the slightest thing about JR your are banned but you can blast Kyle all you want and it is considered good form. I also thought attacks on DEI except for how well they would race are uncalled for.
I got busted for supporting VICKERS!!! I am still amazed at that. They want to squash debate.
Too bad this is about fan-dome and not racing. They 18 is well driven. That kills ‘em.
I totally love the racing. Totally, and I don’t care who wins. If JR or Kyle either of them NEVER WINS AGAIN I don’t care. I just love the sport.
I hope this pic brings a smile or two, like it did to me. Now, understand, I've never really liked these cat pics, but for some reason this one just seemed to ring the right chimes given the circumstances.
This is my last post on this tired thread and thanks...
Schrader to run 4th RCR car in Coca-Cola 600: Ken Schrader will attempt to qualify Richard Childress Racing’s #33 Camping World Chevy for the May 24 Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Schrader, 57, of Fenton, Mo, made his Cup Series debut in 1984 and ran his first full Cup Series season in 1985. After 20 full seasons in NASCAR’s premier division, the veteran racer has tallied one win, six top-five and 13 top-10 finishes in 44 starts at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Camping World's blue and gold paint scheme will adorn the #33 Chevrolet Impala SS.(RCR PR)(5-13-2008) Comment here
Terry Labonte to Drive for Petty UPDATE: Terry Labonte will be a teammate to his brother Bobby at Petty Enterprises starting next month, pending sponsor approval. Terry (and Chad McCumbee) will drive the #45 when Kyle Petty gets out for the summer. Petty is scheduled to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 and then miss the next seven races (one for his daughter's wedding and the other six to work as an analyst for TNT). McCumbee likely will drive at Dover and Chicago. Terry Labonte likely will drive in the other five races. Labonte’s addition is key for Petty Enterprises because the #45 car is not in the top 35 in car owner points. Labonte’s second of his two titles came in 1996 — that makes him the most recent champion not in the top 35 since Bill Elliott's title came in 1988. Thus, Labonte would be guaranteed a starting spot each time he starts, while the Wood Brothers would lose that even with Elliott in the seat. This would be the second time the Labonte brothers have run as teammates. Terry Labonte drove in five races for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2005 when Bobby Labonte was there. Terry Labonte ranks fourth in series history with 851 career starts. He won 22 races.(Roanoke Times)(5-11-2008)
UPDATE: Petty Enterprises announces its driver lineup for the #45 Marathon/Wells Fargo/PVA Dodge for the races beginning with the June 1 event at Dover through the July 12 event at Chicagoland. Kyle Petty is scheduled to step away from the car at Dover to attend his daughter's wedding. Petty will also return to the broadcasting booth to cover the Sprint Cup events that will air on TNT Sports, which begin with the June 8 event at Pocono. Petty made his TNT Sports broadcasting debut in 2007 to rave reviews and accolades. Petty will return when the series makes its annual mid-summer trek to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Chad McCumbee will bookend Petty's hiatus by getting behind the wheel of the #45 Dodge at Dover and Chicagoland. He previously filled in for Petty at Pocono and the Michigan International Speedway in 2007 and at the Texas Motor Speedway last month. McCumbee’s best finish for Petty Enterprises came at Pocono when he came home 25th. “As a father there aren't many days more special than the day you get to give your daughter away in marriage,” said Petty. “I appreciate Chad jumping in the car at Dover to allow me to do that. He is strong on the intermediate tracks and I'm confident that he will do a great job at Dover as well as Chicagoland. It's just another part of our evaluation process of him.” For the remaining five races, Petty will turn the reins of the #45 Dodge over to a familiar friend and competitor. Two-time Sprint Cup Series champion, Terry Labonte, will become a teammate to his younger brother, 2000 series champion Bobby, for only the sec
Darlington overnight TV Ratings up 8%: A weekend of increases for FOX was highlighted by a 4.3/8 on Saturday night for Sprint Cup racing from Darlington. Saturday night's 4.3/8 is an +8% gain over last year's 4.0/8 for the Darlington race, which ran on Sunday afternoon due to rain. FOX’s 4.3/8 for the night was good enough to narrowly win the Primetime battle. CBS was second with a 4.2/8. FOX’s slight margin in the overnights will likely grow when national ratings are released tomorrow morning. After a brief mid-season swoon, NASCAR oOn Fox now appears to be back on track, as Fox's last three races have each posted year-to-year increases in the metered markets. For the season-to-date, NASCAR on Fox is averaging a 5.4/11 in the overnights, a tenth better than last year's 5.3/11 (+2%). FOX’s next race - the Coca-Cola 600 during Memorial Day weekend - will be the last race of this season to count toward the year-to-year comparison because last year's Dover race was rained out, run on a Monday, and excluded from the total.(Fox), for ratings by race and the Ratings chart, see my 2008 TV Ratings page.(5-12-2008) Comment here
check out post #890...
(thanks tubebender)
Well, I gotta say, Biffle is right. I mean, he has been right there week after week, but has had car problems. I can only imagine what he could do with a Gibbs car.
They want to squash debate.
—
Who, pray tell, is “They”? Please , if folks prefer to sit on their hands and take, so be it. I want to know more about “Them”.
and as for this not being about racing, Oh you are right.
It’s nothing but personal attacks these days, a reliable source told me so. ;-)
Again, if the thread doesn’t meet the “standards” some seek, then start one of your own. This continued victimhood gambit is getting really tired.
I think of it as a backyard barbecue. :-)
Biff runs for the gold every race, as does Smoke. It seems to me that this is the time for Smoke to just rock on. Exciting prospects all around. This could be the start of something really fun.
By “rock on,” do you mean stick with Gibbs, or move to a different team?
I kinda think maybe he might benefit by a change of scenery. The idea of being part owner of his own car, and partnering with Hendrick on engine tech sounds like a good plan for him.
I mean move on... I think it’d be the best thing he could do at this point. He ain’t getting younger, and he ain’t getting the equipment and support (re: Jr/DEI). JMHO.
