Well, greycat and Annie met today, by accident, and it did not go well. Greycat was by the basement (outside) door and Annie pushed the basement (inside) door open, saw him, and immediately launched a screaming, squawling attack on anything that moved, including me. I was in the middle, trying to push Annie down the basement stairs, open the door to let greycat out, and yelling for OB to come to our aid. He was outside afixing new VFW poppies to the rearview mirrors of our cars. Gyspy was standing at the top of the basement stairs, barking at the commotion, but not getting involved. OB finally heard me, rushed in and grabbed greycat, who was very willing to fight Annie. Lots of hissing, squawling, and claws flying, but I think, I was the only one that got bit, by Annie, and she didn’t break the skin (much).
I had always thought they would meet outside, and I would have a bucket of water handy to break up the fight, this was not what I expected.
And I get madder and madder at greycat’s ~owners~. It’s an office, and they throw the cat out at night, and this is a three-day weekend. They won’t be back ‘til Tuesday. No care, no concern about the cat. Food, water, a dry place to sleep? Let it fend for itself. Why did they even “rescue” it? It doesn’t stand a chance of getting adopted if I called animal control, and it has the greatest personality. It hangs around their office, but rushes over every time we come outside. We’ll just keep food and water available for him and keep out fingers crossed that he doesn’t get run over. Dang people!

Smart dog!
Poor Greycat! Guess there's no way to convince Annie that you need another cat, huh?
