Jr. and his girlfriend are in the living room watching The Chronicles of Narnia (the first one). She obviously doesn’t know the story and was quite fahklempt over Aslan’s death.

both kids have always got in trouble for a fight. Doesnât mean it wasnât worth it or the problem didnât get solved. Quite so. Getting "in trouble" pretty much means calling in the parents. OK. So you get called in after the fight and promise the vice-principal that you'll "discipline him appropriately" for fighting.
That way you can save the high-five till you get home. :-)

That fits what I recall. And that public school was in small town Arkansas. Dito the karate suggestion. It is amazing how much less bullying phases a kid when they know they could drop the other guy.
