Thegame is on and therace is about to start.

We're fixin' to take a nap. Miss Annie is upstairs, shut in the bedroom taking her nap, and we brought Jackson Silver in to take a nap with us. He immediately scoped out the cushiest place (atop the new couch) and is sprawled out with his tail and hind legs draped down the back of the couch. So cute. I think he's been enjoying the murmurs of OB and I talking and the hum of the fan. He can sleep soundly without having to be on guard for predators. LSA

A few more minutes and the okra is done. T-bone and okra with some adult beverage. My nap usually waits until after therace.

Uh-oh....Junior’s running hot.

Well, how did Junior do? Did he get the ‘running hot’ took care of?

Jackson Silver is still sawing logs, Annie is as well. Gypsy is wondering when we’ll eat. Guess we need to do something bout that.

Yeah, the running hot got took care of. Seems it was a hot dog wrapper or some kind of paper that got stuck to the front of the grill. He got rid of it by drafting close.

Unfortunately, his car didn’t handle well all day and he finished 23rd. At least he didn’t end up in the wall.

So does Jackson stay overnight and go back to the office in the morning?

I dunno, he may! He’s still sound asleep on the couch; he’s changed positions several times so we know he’s still alive. I brought Annie down and fed her; she wandered in the living room, groomed herself and headed back upstairs for her post-evening feeding nap. I’m not sure she noticed Jackson or just pretended he wasn’t here, but there was no hissing, which is always a good thing.

No, as a matter of fact, I just got back from taking him to the office and knocking on the door 'til Kelly (his owner) opened it and let him in. He normally keeps a really close eye on the place and is over there like a shot when Kelly or Kathy come, so I don't know what distracted him this morning. Probably something along the line of the morning he showed up for breakfast with little birdie feathers all over his face.... LSA

He might just give notice and pursue other interests....along the lines of being a cat of leisure over at your house. :)

He is an absolutely great cat! Unfortunately, Annie is not near as taken with him as I am. He’s already “whupped” her once, but I think she’s a slow learner. LSA

You know, Mondays go a lot faster when you don’t go to work til noon.

Back from our long weekend at the convention. Ugh. Our house is a bigger mess than ever and the internet has decided that since the router was gone all weekend, we don’t need internet any more.

And by Wednesday I should have post-con flu.

Gee...thanks.

It’s rainin’, too. And rainy days and Mondays always get me down.

Or give me a headache, anyway. There’s something odd going on with the barometric pressure or something today.

I did get a free mocha this morning, though...yay!

Being around 2700 people all weekend has left me overly sensitive to scents today. I have a horrible headache from something perfumed that I probably would hardly notice regularly.

Ugh. This scent allergy keeps getting worse.

Y'all went to a Con this weekend? Rose and I "did" ArmadilloCon this weekend and had a lot of fun. It's been years since we spent time at one the entire weekend, rather than just one day.

Yup, AnimeIowa. Well, “went to” is the wrong term. “Worked” is better - we ran the tech/videos department so we were busy from Thursday night through Sunday evening. But we did get to enjoy one or two events and the dealers’ room.

We plan to go to a con in the next year and just attend rather than run it. And our upcoming relocation (destination still unknown) gives us a perfect excuse not to be on AnimeIowa staff this upcoming year.
