Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Luke is still lobbying for another pet. If you catch one, can you fax it to me?
Use a salmon for the cover sheet.
Salmon and a kitten ought to fit in the same box. :~)
For a while at least...
Penned cats? That will not end well.
Somehow I’m thinking you may catch sister cat again. Repeatedly.
She apparently doesn’t have the best of memories.
Hope the kittens are still young enough to be tamed!
Ungh...it’s already too hot out there. And I got out the door late. And if today is anything like yesterday, I’ll be ready to pass out from sheer boredom by about ten.
At least it’s Friday! And there was a fresh pot of coffee ready when I got here. Little things....
For last night I just left it open and fed them in there... and have the trap sitting there too, so they get used to seeing it. If I catch momma first, I'll empty her into the pen (hopefully) and reset it for the kittens.
I Wicket tested it... it held her!
Looks good!
I like the Wicket test. ;-) “Let meowt!”
Well, I figure if I have to hold one or both mommas, they’d like that better than being in a dog crate... either that or in the back of the truck. I’m curious if I can put both mommas in there together. They used to be friends and sleep together before they had kittens, you think they still are now? I never see them together any more, the one still having her litter with her.
Well obviously the one still bears the shame of having the welfare state take her children away.
As I once heard a welfare client say “she had her children taken away because she was an unfilthy mother...”
They’ve both had kittens taken away. And I suspect there was some kitten swapping taking place. The kitten Barkley killed was bigger than the rest of that litter, seemed the size of Wicket’s litter.
Well, good luck with catching them.
News story around here are about the pest-control operator who avoided jail time for gassing three feral cats. A local TV station hired him to deal with the cats. He was fined $250 each and sentenced to 12 months in prison for each cat. He’s managed to avoid the jail time, but has to pay the fines.
Law says that “companion” animals must be euthanized by a vet. Thing is, feral cats aren’t really “companion” animals.
And, had they gone to the SPCA and not been adopted, they would have been released, not euthanized.
Huh?
idjits...
well, there you are...
how’re you doin’?
busier than a one-legged man in a butt kickin’ contest...
wrappin’ things up... headin out to Iowa in a few... been a year since I been home...
I been keepin’ tabs, but been werkin’ crazy hours tryin’ tuh get this project to production... so close... so close...
you really ought to give Iowa a try...provided you were contrary...
take care of yerself...
Hey! I have six exact replicas of that rabbit! Heh heh!
Hyacinth had eight more but I just discovered one died. So I’ve been out dealing with that and am now getting ready for work.
Could the clock *possibly* move any slower?
Three hours.
*sigh*
THREE hours.
