However, not all cats hate getting wet. This one looks pretty enthused about it.

I think I finally got it. Turns out to have been a bad or incompatible IDE cable.

"I was just getting ready to suggest that when I read you'd already done it," he said nonchalantly...

LOL - that was great. Somehow, we don’t think Annie fits in that mind-set. Greycat was back today, off and on. We think it just likes hanging out around people, for a bit and then takes off for parts unknown. He hung around for quite a while this morning when we were plant, playing ‘ambush’. He come racing out of the daylilies and then scamper back and wait for the next person to come by. OB & LSA

Operation Basementcat a success! Got greycat safely placed in the basement with a blankie, cat food, water and litter box right before the thunderstorm hit last night. He knew it was going to be a vicious storm and was on the front porch crying to come in at midnight. He was a perfect gentleman, and Annie behaved herself as well. I was able to sleep soundly, too, knowing he was safe, warm and dry.

Happy Memorial Day!

Papa's flag is flying from the front of the house. It's a beautiful clear day and supposed to get into the 80s. A little yard work, and then thepool.

Quietly remembering our veterans today. Papa was in the Pacific during WWII. My dad was in Germany after the war, then later in Korea. My grandfather was exposed to nerve gas in France during WWI (and his diary now resides in the Library of Congress). Heroes all.

And there are so many more to whom we owe our undying gratitude for defending our freedom. Some on these very threads.

Thank you, and God bless you all.

I’m not usually one to jump on the boycott wagon (and I can’t on this one for odd reasons), but I wanted to make sure that the homeschoolers had caught on to Subway restaurant excluding homeschoolers from their contest. It’s not an urban legend it’s right on the contest form “no home schools will be accepted.”

Michelle Malkin has been covering this.

Indeed Corin, we all thank them all for their service.

LSA’s dad was Army Air Corps, not Air Force, he only needed to correct me one time on that. England, France & Germany. My dad worked at Douglas in Chicago throughout the WWII, they made the C-54s.

My Daddy was in the "Home Guard" in MS, but he never served in the regular military. Just before WWII, he, Mama, and my oldest brother, traveled around the country while Daddy worked to build Army bases. They lived in NC, IN, TX, MO, and AR, before heading back to MS. SirKit's Dad was a Sergeant in the Artillery, and was scheduled to take part in the invasion of Japan. Thankfully, that never happened. Neither of my Grandaddies served, but SirKit's Maternal Grandaddy was an Ambulance Driver in France in WWI, and his Paternal Grandaddy was a Contractor who worked on the atomic project facilities in Oak Ridge, TN.

And you're right, Corin, there are many men and women here at FR who have served, or are serving now, protecting our freedoms. I thank God for them all!

Oh, yeah, our State Yahoo group is talking about this. They’re surmising that since the Grand Prize is Athletic Eqpt. for a school, that if a homeschooler were to win it, it wouldn’t be appropriate. That’s understandable, but it seems the lesser prizes are perfectly suitable, and there’s no reason that homeschoolers shouldn’t participate and compete for those. The company could simply award the Grand Prize to the school whose student ends up highest in the competition, if a homeschooler actually placed first.

Functioning is in the eye of the beholder. You’ll do fine. Betteryet-take a half day off, get the Sig and then do the chemo. We’re all on your side, hope it goes well.
