Turnings

A jolly time is had by all,
As Summer journeys into Fall.
The ice cream doesn’t melt as fast,
As I remember in the past.

And ladies look as good these days,
As ever once consumed my gaze.
Though I stare longer in my turn,
For they are much more likely now to burn.

The formal dresses, once so fine,
Have given way to bits of twine.
I’m not complaining, you will see,
But my poor eyesight troubles me.
