Hey Lori, its good to hear from ya! Yes, I had a very nice Mother’s Day and so glad you did too! I guess Sweet Baby Jay has flown the coop, huh? Do you have the ‘empty nest syndrome’~~LOl~~! I am watching my bluebirds closely. My son and I looked in and they had 5 eggs. This has to be the second family because they have been here so long. The weather was so cold when they first came, I didn’t get to see their activity! Now I am watching the best I can!

Talk later....you know me..naptime! I’ve been working today and am tired.

Wow, five little bluebird babies! Those parents are going to be kept very busy! LOL

My Sweet Baby Jay is still hanging out in the lilac bush. He spends most days either there or in one of the Oleanders. He can fly short distances, I saw him at the top of the pear tree the other day, but his parents don't let him get far away. I also saw him up on top of the neighbor's roof and one of the parents spotted him and chased him back into the lilac. They want him to stay under cover. They are still bringing him his food, even though he is almost as big as they are. Scrub Jays stay dependent upon their parents longer than many birds, I think.

I feel a bit bad for SBJ. He has no siblings to follow around. They learn from each other as much as from their parents, so he may be lagging behind other jays of his age.
