Silver
It is said that silver only purifies
In the most extreme heat of the foundry
The core of the flame
Where even the crucible glows
Too bright for the eyes to even glance upon
The smith waits with patience
While fire and stone do their work
Bringing metal and pot to the brink of catastrophe
Burning and purging away that which pollutes
Until the liquid reflects the face of the laborer

Humanity
One foot in the carnal
One in the spiritual
The folly and envy of angel and animal
Only intense distress can reveal true nature
And the Creator looks into the glowing crucible
Of nature, experience, and time
Bringing spirit and flesh to the brink of mutual ruin
Sins and failures are either purged or magnified
Until the soul reflects the face of the divine
