I just got my catering lic this week (NY)- vending permits here, only alow a vendor in NYS to serve hot dogs, preformed hamburgers (froz), pre cooked italian sausage, pre cooked chicken - thats it - no exceptions -no bacon !

I wanted to serve pulled pork bbq - its alowed under my catering permit, but not for vending - go figger.....even though Im certified to prepare in all 50 states

and I still need a temp food permit for festivals etc...

Oh yeah - and if you want to do a cart inside the city limits - plan on a lottery drawing for a spot ($600)

As sad as your story is it has gone the other way in Houston. On every other corner there is a mexican mobile taqueria . As long as they are mobile the health department doesn’t inspect them. Cleanliness is not an issue that they care about. I would starve before eating at one of these germ invested third world inventions.

Who eats the “food” that they serve? Mostly illegal aliens. The folks that can go to mexico and drink the water.

Where’s your cart?

The best falafel I ever had was at a stand four blocks from the UN, and the best gyro I ever had was a stand in front of Bryan Park.

Man, NYC street vendors have good food!!
