Hope you have fun! We went to the botanical gardens, and they gave me a plant.

I decided I’m not going to do political stuff anymore. If the state party wants to be the stupid party, they’ll do it without me.

Happy Mother’s Day to both of you.

I’m back!

We went to Mimi’s, which is really popular, but only a mile or so from here. She took the freeway, but it’s closer and quicker to take the surface streets! LOL!

But it was her effort, so I didn’t complain. She brought me a bottle of Bloom (Reisling) and a really nice card, and we had Mimosas with breakfast!

She said it’s now a tradition, and I made her “pinky-swear” that the first Mother’s Day after I die, she has to go there and have a Mimosa and breakfast in my honor. Ditto.

:o])

Thanks!

The day was dampened somewhat by the fact that both my daughter and I saw fatal car accidents on our ways to differing destinations.

The one she saw is just now being cleared, after almost six hours. I don’t know when the one I saw took place, but it was pretty nasty, just from the amount of debris on the road and the fact that CSI was still on the scene.

I always hate to see things like that around Mother’s Day.

I hate to see such any time, though I think I've only rarely seen any. (I presume the driver died due to the extent of the damage.)

Doesn't look like any more rain here. Just white skies.

I dunno. I’m surprised we don’t have more fatal accidents here, with the amount of drivers under the influence at any given time. With this being a 24 hour town, there are always people going to work and coming home from work.

It’s the latter we have to really watch out for, because most of them stop for drinks and gambling, or a meal and drinks, or just a few drinks to “unwind.”

Get two of them in the same proximity at the same time, and all it takes is one to make a wrong move and they can cause a seven-car collision. Surface streets are no guarantee of safety, since folks seldom do the speed limit, and red lights seem to indicate “STEP ON IT!”

Weather doesn’t matter, either. Some are just hell-bent for destruction. Not much will educate the hard liners, either.

So far, me and my family and extended family have been quite fortunate. For that, I thank God. Quite often!

What are you and LoM doing tomorrow? Seen any good movies, lately?

Tomorrow is probably going to be the usual day. We both kind of spaced on the occasion. LoM saw IronMan while I was away and pronounced it good. I’m thinking of watching the Gettysburg video — though I haven’t even processed my photos from there yet. (Not sure they’re even off the camera yet...)

My daughter has pronounced “IronMan” as “awesome, Mom! You gotta watch it!”

Maybe I’ll get it for my birthday, next week... ;o]

Sounds great! We usually have Mimosas on Christmas morning.

DP is making fajitas for supper, and then Amanda is coming over to practice Spanish music. It’s 80 outside and hotter in the house!

Wednesday is nibbling a houseplant.

At Mimi’s, the Mimosas were made with Friexenet Brut (frosted bottle) and my daughter really liked the stuff.

I reminded her she had to drive, so she let me finish hers. *snort*

I haven’t had one in 10 years, when a friend of mine took me to Fitzgerald’s, on a Saturday morning. We must have had five of them with brunch buffet....I told her we should NEVER drink together! LOL!

We just had WAY too much fun that day. :o])
