Careful with that...Oregano can be like mint...it will try to take over the garden.

I planted some a few years ago, and it was hard to control, but on the plus side, it also grew into my lawn, so when we mow near the garden it smells great.

It’s in a pot - but I think we have non-Greek oregano, which is indeed spreading over the herb garden, fighting with the thyme and the chives.

I am going to put something eatable in my garden this year. The roses are getting old and need to be updated. I’m off to the store.

Cool....a pot is perfect.

I don’t think mine was Greek either, but then I never did try talking to it.

Me too.

I pulled out all my perennials last year, except for some lavender (which I love), a couple of Iris, some hens and chicks, a few painted daisys, and some purple coneflower, and am growing lettuce, zucchini, and tomatoes this year.

Pat has been telling it about how it’s going to grow. I have my cilantro in pots, too, because it doesn’t like full sun and high winds. It’s huddling behind the oregano and thyme for now, but if it gets too hot I’ll bring it inside.

Thanks for the ping, ‘Face. Hope your weekend’s a good one.

Sunny and 75, here, with a light westerly breeze. Couldn’t ask for a nicer day, weather wise.

5 1/2?

Do the plants talk to him?

How wonderful.

:-)

He’s a little over 6. He hasn’t mentioned the plants’ talking to him, but he’s definitely been talking to the plants. And he doesn’t try to pull them up, like Vlad does, or fall on them, like James. James helped me plant the canteloupes - lots of dirt!

LOL!

Such fun, and good memories.

Have a great night TC.

I suspect my weekend will be good. At least, what’s left of it! LOL!

Glad you could do a drive-by! I hope all is well with those in your care!

"So is it okay that folks get fired & blackballed for speaking against the prevailing orthodoxy?"

"This is a very important question for me, because I am putting together a presentation next October that opens with questioning a prevailing orthodoxy as my lead-in. It doesn't need to because I don't see it as the ultimate driver for the issue I address, but many in the audience will, and I need to be honest about the issue. But if this is to be my last speaking engagement, I need to know."

Basing your behavior and presentation direction on a production by Ben Stein is not something I would recommend.

I delight in the challenge of orthodoxy. But I do so in recognition that the challenge has to be a more interesting direction than the orthodoxy. Something that makes you think.

Stein could just as well have embraced members of the Flat Earth Society, lamenting no doubt that they have suffered and been ostracized for their beliefs. It would probably have been more entertaining, and might actually have made money.

I hope he's telling it to grow in a language it can understand...;o]

Golly. Did you plant a dead fish with it? That’s how the Native Americans did it...fertilizer!

I think that is a east coast thing. My dad said to plant them on a full moon,I don’t know when the seeds were planted because I bought them at the store in pots so when my nieces and nieces and grand nieces and grand nephew get here this summer maybe we might get to eat some of it.
