Ummm... I don’t think I did. I hadn’t realized how much time would be necessary, so I will be going back.

fwiw, the MD monument is (i think) the NEWEST one at g'burg.
it pictures a Rebel Soldier & a Union soldier (both badly wounded) helping each other off the battlefield.
fyi, the two soldiers were brothers from St Mary's County, MD = YES, the monument remembers a REAL incident.
also, the monument is quite near the Visitor's Center;it will NOT be hard to find on your next trip.

YES, the monument remembers a REAL incident. I am not surprised; one hears of such things often enough. But I will look for it next time.

standing at the front door of the visitor's center (facing outside), walk to the right down the sidewalk about 100 yards. th MD monument won't be hard to find, though it's only about 12' tall.

I dug in both places, and watered the sunflower seeds. I found some rebar coming from under the tree in two places, after I removed the grass. It was probably to support and stabilize the tree when it was planted. However, that whole part of the yard is downhill and needs to be shored up. Instead of building a semicircular bed around the tree, maybe a rectangular area with the tree in the middle would work better. Easier to build a retaining wall in a straight line, too!
Sometimes when I start a project, my husband decides I’m doing it all wrong and takes over and does it better :-).

I have been playing with pvc pipe for years. Most of the time for children’s plays at church. I would buy a bunch of connectors mainly tee’s and elbows and play with them till you got what you want pipe is cheep. You can get x’s and conner pieces but they cost a more. Don’t use glue till you got what you want. A good cutter is needed to make straight cuts and is worth the cost. I made a rack for the back of my van to put boxes on with 3/4 schd 40.

I saw it then, though I didn’t take note. (I had but 45 minutes to tour the battlefields before heading to Baltimore and dinner with NicknamedBob.)

I’d probably not glue the pieces, as I may have to disassemble it at some point to move. I’ll look at what’s available, and start to play. That’s probably my best bet.
Thanks!

I made a cheap lightbox with some smaller PVC. Disassembles completely. But for a computer desk I think you would want to glue the pieces holding the table top, for safety.

I was thinking more along the lines of “flamethrowers, piggle 40’s, and good old fashion zombie butt kicking.”
But first, to defeat this backwards mouse!
