The first time I saw that I laughed out loud. but you get the "effect" of having a lawn without having something that needs water; just freshen up the pain every seven or eight years.

Unless you have to drive by some....
There’s a gal who lives across the way from me and her outside area is cluttered with windchimes, pinwheels, potted plants (some on ladders to make room for more) lawn chairs, owls, and some funny looking wooden roadrunners.
Inside her little patio is just about as bad, but she has put up a couple of strings of white Christmas lights so she can sit outside at night.
I love the ol’ dear, but I just can’t go in her house....

When my grandparents lived out there in Hemet, the local petty thieves had something of an industry going: they’d steal the yard decor from the trailer parks then sell it to other trailer park dewllers at the weekly swap meet.
If you came out one morning to find your purple ceramic hippo had vanished, you could buy it back on Saturday at the drive-in. If you showed up with a LEO or two, you could get it back for free, and get some great entertainment thrown in.
Now, if you’ll excuse me for a few minutes, seems the local IT boys just pushed some un-asked-for software thingy to my system, and I’m going to have to reboot it to get my video subsystem back to normal, again.

There’s a little house up the road from us that’s surrounded by yard decor - birthbaths, statues, flamingos, little fences. It’s kind of neat, but I wouldn’t want to live there.
