May you have a long and beneficent life; however, should you reach sainthood before me, you will have some explaining to do, as I’ve always struggled in the neverland between canonization and cannon fodder. LOL!

Imperfect Gifts
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights. —James 1:17

When I was a child, I wondered why I had to thank God for food I didn't want to eat. In my immature mind, gratitude was a response to receiving something I wanted—like a hamburger and French fries, not asparagus. So why did I have to be thankful for something I didn't want?

In the human realm, my thinking was logical. Not everything people give us is for our good. And of course not everything we want is good.

But the situation with God is different. As Christ reminded us, loving parents do not give their children a stone rather than bread, a snake instead of a fish. And God is far more loving than our earthly parents (Matt. 7:9-11).

This doesn't mean that God's children can expect a pain-free, stress-free life. James tells us not only that every good gift comes from our heavenly Father (1:17), but also that we are to "count it all joy" when we "fall into various trials." The testing of our "faith produces patience," and the work of patience makes us "perfect and complete, lacking nothing" (vv.2-4).

Even when we receive something that doesn't seem good, we can be grateful because we know there is more to it than we can see. What seems like an imperfect gift may be the means by which God perfects us.

For Further Study

A trial may be God's good gift in disguise.

Orange Juice

Well, now, citrus is something. I mean after all,
What else can you call it, with the shape of a ball?
So its name is the Orange, and juice is the crop.
Smart machines do the picking, and they don’t spill a drop.

That works great for me though, because here at this end,
I’m careful myself with the money I spend.
They pack it in railcars, and they treat it like gold,
Through the heat of the day it is lavished with cold.

And it gets to the store where they pour me a glass,
Where I taste and I savor, and I say that is class!
I may not have much money but I can say how,
It is worth it to pay for imported stuff now!

Think about the new baby and write something bright and cheerful. Something about the freshness of spring and new beginnings .... the birds and the bees and new babies everywhere. IE: birds, bunnies, kittens, puppies, calves, colts and little sisters.

LOL

Guess what we are celebrating today?

Daffy Duck Debuted in Warner Bros Cartoon in 1937.

We can also celebrate National Cheeseball Day!

Happy Daffy Duck Day!

I am sorry I haven’t shared my poems

You probably think that everybody writes like NnB or CG but some of us just has fun with it.

The ballad of William Sic-'er-Moe
a shaggy dog parody of
The Ballad of William Sycamore
by Stephen Vincent Benét

My pappy........he wahr a mountain man.
He had a fist like a rusty spur.
Most of the time he could barely stand,
and he spoke with a bit of a slur.

My maw..... she wahr somewhat forlorn,
with a wit sharp as a hatchet.
When the time came 'round for me to be born,
she conjured up Nurse Ratchett.

There be younguns that're lucky and some are not,
Me.....I wuz more than jest lucky.
I wuz born at a time when it wasn't so hot,
in a holler in eastern Kentucky.

I recollect sleepin’ on the rough cabin floor,
the bedsprings a’squeakin’ and squealin’.
eatin' burnt skin 'til I couldn't hold anymore,
in the summer when my sunburn was peelin'.

When I grew up tall as a sorgram cane stalk,
I worked at my pappy‘s still.
Many's the time I couldn’t even walk,
from smelling all of that swill.

With buckskin breeches covering my butt
and my feet in brogan shoes.
With my belly full of cheap rotgut,
I mostly... just took a snooze.

Then I lost my youth and I found me a wife,
she wuz built like a Salem Clipper.
She wuz broad of beam and it skeered my life,
when she hit me with the dipper.

I shook it off as best I could
and out of the house I go.
I see'd my dog by the pile of wood
and I yelled at him... "sic 'er Moe".
