“Archie” won the night I must say, particularly because of his first song, and I haven’t been impressed with him for much of the live competition. I was hoping for more from Cook’s version of Collective Soul... I thought he could really grab the emotion of this song, and I felt it was somewhat flat. Perhaps he felt disappointed and powerless over the lovefest for “Archie” after the first two songs.

As others have said, regardless of the outcome, Cook should have the better career and impact.

This was the first season of AI I’ve actually watched from start to finish (I missed a few of the preliminary nights), so it’s interesting to hear how it’s a dying show. :-p

I thought David A. won the night, too. And it looked like he wanted it more than David C. He certainly needs the win more than Cook. David C.’s performances seemed curiously underpowered last night. He didn’t do as much with the U2 song(which I thought would be perfect for him) as I expected. I didn’t know his final song, but I expected a tour-de-force, a real show-stopper, from Cook on his last time up. David C. comes off a pretty bright guy—wonder if he thinks an AI win would be a hinderance for a rocker. In spite of that, DialIdol has David C. with a big lead. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t win.
