Syesha. No question she's the most improved across the entire season. She seemed to have found herself during Broadway/Andrew Lloyd Weber week, at which time she said she enjoys acting. So maybe she sees herself as going in that direction after AI. At least her recent performances suggest that. Last night she was theatrical and almost, but not quite exceptional. I liked her second song better than her first, but kept thinking throughout that, in singing about change, she was doing her bit to support Barack Obama.
David C. If one keeps the original point of this show in mind, then he is by far the best contestant left standing. He's a talented -- and, I believe, commercial -- pop/rock singer and performer.
David A. Please see my post #7,311 for my opinion of him. No point in repeating it here. I know it's only my opinion, which people can accept or reject as they wish, but I honestly believe his talent is very, very limited and non-commercial. But who knows. I've been wrong before and will be again.
Dreads. How he even made it to the top 4 is a mystery. I'm hard on David A. for showing absolutely zero performance range, but the same applies to this guy. As everyone else on the thread has observed, his performances last night were beyond horrible. Even beyond bad karaoke, for that matter. He should go home tonight, but I wouldn't be surprised if Syesha goes since she's been in the bottom 2 or 3 several times.
The finals should be David C. and Syesha, but probably won't. David C. should win this year, but I wouldn't be surprised to see David A. win. The tweens do have buying power, so they may boost his first album up to #1. After that, I just don't see where his career goes.
I'm sure Jason can't even believe it. Maybe that's why he doesn't seem to care. He knows he doesn't have a shot and probably can't believe he made it this far!
I agree!! I “got it” immediately with the “change” thing. She was promoting Obama on AI.
