I even liked it better than “I Walk the Line.”

Probably because I wasn’t a fan of the original Michael Jackson song so he really rocked it up!

Yep. And iirc, Daughtry had to explain himself on the following week's show.

I don't know if this will be as big of a deal, but the way the judges reacted we would think that David came up with this version all by himself.
