Mariah Carey did not write ‘Without You.’ In fact, she first recorded it in 1994, 24 years after it was written by Badfinger members Peter Ham and Tom Evans. The huge, timeless hit by Harry Nilsson was recorded and released in 1972. I’m not sure why Mariah Carey is so identified with the song now, because Nillson’s version is still the best.

LOVE Harry Nielson's version of “Without You.” You can't beat the sound of his voice and the emotion he puts into it.
Mariah Cameltoe’s version is pretty weak in comparison.
I also can't see any of the “top 7” doing it justice with the exception of David Cook. He's probably got the closest voice for it.
