Carly Smithson

She sings an obscure Queen song. Never heard it before.

Not good. Hard to hear any melody. Just noise.

Randy: Disconnected. Pitchy in the middle. It was a'ight.

Paula: Your voice, as always, is pretty perfect. But I didn't feel any connection.

Simon: Carly, you look good. I thought it was an unusual choice of song. You oversang it. You lost control over it at the end. Came off as an angry performance. You may be in a bit of trouble after tonight.

What was the little girl with the squeaky speaking voice a few years ago? Paris? Was that her name? She sang it and, from what I remember, she sang it better.

Watch Moulin Rouge and you will see it sung by Jim Broadbent and Nicole Kidman. A very powerful song at one of the pivotal moments of the movie. A great song when sung with the right emotion.
