Just my opinion, but choosing this song is shameless pandering to Idol's red state viewers.
Nobody can sing this like Lee Greenwood, but Kristy does an okay job with it.
Randy: Pitchy in spots, but it was a'ight.
Paula: Poignant and respectful song. I've seen better performances from you.
Simon: You're best performance by a mile. That was the most clever song choice I have heard in years (WHAT?) A brilliant writer (Lee Greenwood), a brilliant song. That will keep you in the competition.
