Good ideas.."America" for Cook could be a winner also..and I can easily see Brooke doing your choice.. Very scary that we BOTH concur on what Dreds will do..(g)

It was hard to find certain types of songs, those a woman could sing without having to rewrite the lyrics too much, or songs a younger person like Archuleta could sing. I think Cook's voice is even a little bit similar to Diamond's. At least a closer fit than any of the others. jmo

DC should do “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show”. If he sings it big, as it should be done, it has the real possibility of being a show stopper.

Dreds could do well with “Sweet Caroline”. He could arrange it so it sounds just like everything else he sings. Boring.

Brook should do “Crunchy Granola Suite” (LOL)

Archie should do “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” (he could do Streisand’s part really well)

Syesha - I have no idea. I think she’s in worse trouble this week than ever before.

Brooke could also do Hello Again, while playing piano.

You know, Castro might be able to pull off September Morn

Too bad Kristy is gone

Here’s another good one for Cook

You might be right about Archuleta doing He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother, sort of fits his PSA’s. He could also do Mr. Bojangles.

The bible also says that all scripture is “God breathed” or the inspiration of God. Not some scripture but all scripture. The writers were given the gift of the Holy Spirit which guided their writings. (Paul’s included)

Well said, EG. You're absolutely right.

The Word is God. Man merely transcribed it.

And what was up with Simon’s little protege? Why was she standing knock-kneed through most of the song? And who exactly are the people that actually spent money to hear that tripe? Good gravy!

I know ... If that's what Simon considers to be a great talent then he has no business judging others, LOL

Morning, Net :)

So, when Paul tells us that the Law has passed away and Jesus tells us that the Law will NEVER pass away, who do we listen to?

What verse are you referring to?

I think it has the potential to be a very good show next week, and I suspect that one, if not two of the five will really HURT themselves by choosing the wrong song, and/or messing up the arrangement.

Good explanation of “I Don’t Know How to Love Him”...it’s my all-time favorite song.

but I’m curious, do you think Jesus is the Word talked about in the Bible Who created the Universe, or that He was just that, a man, and nothing more?

I appreciate your tact in asking this.

I believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all God.

Look at water--it exists in three different forms: solid, liquid and gas. But it's all water.

God also exists in three different forms: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

"when you buy new clothes, do you wash them first or just wear them off the hanger from the store?"

Ya just gotta wash the new outa new clothes! New sheets also. Tee shirts, not so much since many events you don't get the shirt until you are at the event. Sometimes it drives my kids crazy cause they want to wear their new clothes right away!

Back to Idol... I'm not sad to see Carly go. Nothing to do with her voice (or tats), I just have never cared for her. I think Brooke is adorable... love David C. I'm tired of David A. and I like Jason's personality and think Syesha is cute as a bug and the camera loves her.

The Pharisees (of which Paul was a member) were stunned by the way Jesus stripped down the interpretations of the law to get to the root meaning. The core of the law was embodied in the person of Jesus. The weight of the application of the law that killed the spirit of the law was removed by Jesus.

Look at the charges that the Pharisees made that his disciples “harvested” on the Sabbath and look at Jesus’ response. Under the strict interpretation of the law that the Pharisees practiced, they *would not* have been able to take their donkey out of a ditch on the Sabbath. Jesus answer to them made them look foolish.

Jesus said the law would never pass away. That’s true, because Jesus is the law.

Paul said that the old law (or more precisely, the old understanding of the law) had passed away and Jesus was who we should follow. That is also true.

Now back to AI!

I’ll try and be as brief as possible.

First of all Paul contradicts himself. I say Paul, but to be fair, some scribe may have changed Paul’s words.

Romans 2:13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

But, on the following page, just 44 verses later, in the same epistle:

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 3:20-21 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Totally opposite of what Jesus taught.

Matthew 5:17-19, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Jesus is saying he is here to follow the law of Moses, not end the law. Until the world ends, the law as written will be in effect.

Matthew 19:16-19 (Mark 10:17,19) (Luke 18:18,20), “. . . Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him . . . if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments . . . Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother: and, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself “

I John 5:3, “For this is the love of [for] God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous

Paul teaches grace (without the law), while Jesus taught obedience to God’s Commandments for Eternal Life and that those Laws are in effect until heaven and earth pass away.

Hope this helps. :/

Changed my mind. Castro should sing, “Love on the Rocks”. It’s amazingly perfect for him.

I hope he doesn’t read FR. or has already picked something else, because I’d rather he go home soon. He and Syesha.

Yes, I agree. So, my revised list is:

DC - “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show”

Archie - “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”

Brooke - “Hello Again”

Castro - “Love on the Rocks”

Syesha - “September Morn”

God forbid a woman pop singer would have a tatoo!

I have tattoos. I could care less if Carly has tattoos. I didn't care for her singing. There is no reason to be nasty.
