When you have such extreme cold, then consider growing cold types of plants during the winter.
If it was going to see sun, you could use barrels of water to heat in the sun and give off heat at night, it works, I used old oil barrels and set my potted plants on top of a pallet that was laid on them.
It will also garner the heat that is escaping the walls of your house now......be sure to place it so it has a window or two is better, into the house.
I have known folks that used the cold frames and were happy with them.
You could move to a warmer spot.
I could not exist without the sun, a windy grey day, makes me mean and nasty.
