They look around 4 or 5 months old. You can tell by looking at their teeth.

That’s what the majority are saying as well. I sure thought they were dalmatians for some reason.

Beautiful dog you have there!

These two had nothing, no collar or anything.

I wonder how old they are?

If they still have their milk teeth (some or all), they are between 4 to 6 months old. Most puppies start losing their baby teeth at around 4 months and have their full set of adult teeth by about 6 months. The front baby teeth start to fall out first, if I'm not mistaken, so if the pups have adult teeth in front, they are probably close to 6 months old. Your vet should be able to give you a good estimate of their age.

BTW, dogs generally reach their full height at around 9 to 12 months, but continue filling out and maturing for up to 2 years (depending on breed type/size). If these pups are closer to or over 6 months, then they will not be as big as the size of their paws might lead you to believe. However, their faces still have a baby look to them, so my guess, based only on that one photo, is that they are 6 months or under.

They look like Golden Retreivers to me, also. They are absolutely adorable! Congratulations on your new family members.

Ya got yourself a pair there! Sweet looking pups. Yellow Labs have black spots on their pink skin.

If no chip or collar...they're yours.

You might want to name them: "Chaos" and "Calamity"???

Inside dogs do well as letting you know what's around at night. They'll alert when they hear something close buy (outside).

So if those little bundles of joy get to be too much, give me a hollar and I'll meet you half way. I'm in IL, so how about west central TN?

My little girl and GK's would never forgive me if I gave them away.

What can't a stray cow find our home? lol

Do yourself a favor and get at least the rear leg dew claws removed on them

I took a picture of that and was going to post it but didn't. It sure looks far back on the paw and of no use to them. Thanks for the advice.

The most common places where pigmentation is visible are the nose, lips, gums, feet, tails, and the rims of the eyes, which may be black, brown, light yellow-brown (”liver”, caused by having two genes for chocolate),[11] or several other colours.

Both of them have dark spots where their tails connect to their hind end.

Usually when pups are born they snip all the dew claws off because they are not needed. They become a problem at some point if they are left on. They can still be removed at any age but the sooner you have it done the better and the cheaper it will be. Just get an estimate of cost from your vet and shop around for the best price. Let the vet know the pups were abandoned strays and you are trying to keep your cost down.

I noticed the dew claws right away in the one photo you posted and that is why I wrote something about it. They stick out like sore thumbs.

Thanks for the ping HairOfTheDog!

Look part Lab to me. They are huge for puppies, but I have a Yorkie, lol.

Pretty dogs, enjoy!

Regarding the breed or breed mix of these pups, it may be too soon to tell for sure. They still have their puppy coast, so their appearance may change once their adult coats come it. Puppy coats are usually softer and fluffier than adult coats, and they often change color somewhat as the pups mature.

Having said that, your pups have some of the characteristics of purebred Golden Retrievers. Goldens do come in a light blond like that, and they can have lighter shadings and some white markings. Although these characteristics are penalized in the show ring, they can appear in any litter. For show breeders, pups with very light coats and/or white markings would be considered pet quality.

What tells me that these pups are probably mixed is the shape of their ears and heads. Here is a photo of a purebred 13-week-old Golden puppy with a light coat and lighter shadings. You can easily see the differences between this pup and your two pups.

Your pups also don't have heads that closely resemble purebred Labrador Retriever puppies either. Here's a photo of a pet-quality 13-week-old female Lab puppy. Again, you can see the differences.

Your pups are clearly a mix of either Lab or Golden and something else. The "something else" may be impossible to ever know for certain.

I hope all of this info helps.

I know I probably don’t need to tell you this, but get these pups wormed right away through a vet. They no doubt have worms and they probably have never been treated for worms.

You need to do this ASAP if you are going to have them around your Grandkids.

They also need to be put on Heartworm preventive and kept on it ASAP.
