I really don't know what to think. It is possible that God created life elsewhere and that they've advanced to the point where they've mastered space travel over great distances. There is no reason to believe that we're the only life in the entire cosmos.

If you really believe the bible is the inspired word of God than you can trust what it says about creation. That removes the possibility for an old universe with life on other planets.

I do wonder, if we have indeed been visited by beings from another world, why they would take such great pains to avoid direct contact and leave virtually no evidence of their existence behind.

Yeah, being invisible and needing to be taken on faith is God's job. Who do these aliens think they are anyway? ;-)

I disagree.

There’s nothing in Scripture precluding life on other planets. Nothing.

There are hints that such is true. But merely hints.

And the notion that the earth is only 6,000 years old is, imho, utter nonsense.

It may be 6,000 years or so since Adam and since it was mushed over, was formeless and void and began a new after the overhaul . . . but that’s a different issue.
