Sailing is nice, but canoeing on a lake on a calm day is safer :-).

We have a pair of kayaks, though experience informs that "lake" and "calm day" do not comprise "safe"... not in winter. However enjoyable.

I miss the thrill of sailing into the "tongues" just in time to turn upwind and halt right along the finger (dock). Or maybe not...
