We have some good area, but the politicians are trying to tax us out of existence.

If prop 13 gets overturned and 1.25% property taxes go to 2% or more, you will see tons of people having to sell their homes to survive.

That would be the total end of California.

LOL! I’ll be happy to get down to 165...which, at my height, will make me look positively gaunt! (Except for my legs, of course...)

My high school weight was 145, but I’m too old to get that thin. I’d look like Death Warmed Over.

CA hasn’t changed. It’s still in that “Late, Great State of California” stage. Get the book from the library, and then decide where you want to raise your kids.

It’s still the “cereal state:” The land of the fruits, nuts and flakes. Get out while you still can...

I knew it! Just after reading about house #1, I thought to myself, "That sounds like Al Gore's house!" I read about it some months back and remembered.

Good to year from you D. :-)

Yes, they do make organic diapers. FReeper Marie Antoinette, one of my idols, has a baby-stuff business, and could probably point you toward organic diapers if she doesn’t sell them:

I thought it was because of some guy in Sarajevo.

That was just a pretext.

You, too! LOL!

When I get a good email, I keep it. One never knows when it will be useful!

I’ve seen aerial shots of Gore’s estate. Three big ol’ SUV’s parked in the driveway. Talk about a “footprint.”

Just Al Gore himself is a bigger Carbon Footprint than my whole family, including the snake.

Ah, now there is a zen concept for you:

Calculate the carbon footprint of a snake.

What I absolutely know about Al Gore:

I wouldn’t walk him across the street to a dog fight, even if I KNEW he was going to win!

Calculate the carbon footprint of a snake.

She leaves us a Carbon Footprint about once a week :-).

I have to admit that the thought of Al Gore’s fewmets could put me off meals for a good long time ...

Not that that’s bad, or anything.

I’m dusting here. Rather strange, since it’s not Advent, I’m not pregnant, and my mom isn’t visiting any time soon ...

I’ve completed two items out of a list of five. And it’s only 10:30, EST!

But Today

I’m worried about next week,
When some debts are coming due,
And concerns about my family’s health,
Are constantly in view.

But today, the sun is shining,
And my heart is quite at peace,
For the moment, at this instance,
I’m not looking for surcease.

I have some years behind me,
And more yet still ahead,
But on the whole they pleased me,
More than filling me with dread.

For today, the birds spread wings of joy,
To embrace the world “this much”,
Just as do I, in reaching out,
To keep my heart in touch.

In the distant future, when I as memory,
Will haunt the hills and hollows,
Of a changed vicinity,
Then my touch will be as follows:

Folk will be seeing rainbows,
Or singing birds in flight,
And sometimes thoughts of mine,
Will then intrude upon their sight.

For tomorrow will be coming,
While I wend another way,
And my focus will not be with things,
That may be coming, but today.
