They gave us a certificate and a nice Bible. And did I mention the free pasta dinner? I didn’t get any, because I was helping all the kids, but I did have apple pie with ice cream when the byos were all done eating and went to the nursery to hang out. Only there was an emergency diaper change, so the ice cream melted :-).
The Knights have helped us out a lot, especially when we’ve moved to a new place and had a baby right away.

For what its worth, woman was made from Adams Side, so as to be protected by him, but still walk side by side, facing in the same direction. Helpmeet and complement, I agree!
As to the "differences" in FReepers, I put it to the richer exchange possible in-person than is possible though text. (And in that I go all the way back to the "Usenet newsgroups" which I joined in 1985.)

Rats! I missed turning on extra lights for Earth Hour. We were at church, so all the lights at home were off.

I seem to manage OK. Of course, when you start at 0500 and finish 2300 every night, sleeping comes easy when a horizontal orientation is achieved.

Port Townsend is a bit of travel from here so I haven't been there in many years (I last marched with my bagpipe band there, late 80s or mid 90s), but it's long since become a pretty liberal artsy-fartsy locale so I doubt church bells are welcome anymore -- though whether they still ring the bells or not, I have no idea.
...LoM says she remembers bells and a clock tower though...

BTW, I just got done sniping on e-bay when I took that test. I guess you could say I was all revved up.

I had a really nice large, white Rhiems-Douay Bible, but I think it got lost in all the shuffle....
And I have a brother who doesn’t necessarily “belong” to the K of C, even though he belongs, because he says he doesn’t “want to wear that silly hat.”
From the photos I have of Mr. Redhead in his K of C tux, I’d have to fight my brother, if I lived closer to him. Mr. Redhead made up for all my brother’s shortcomings...said brother has no idea what he is missing.
The K of C are a very benevolent group, and I’m proud of all that they do, especially for my sister. A lot of it is never heard about because “they” don’t think it’s important. However, any time a group of people, no matter how small, go about to make changes, it’s important.
You can thank your local K of C for me, and tell them I said your family is worth ALL the grace they can share!

Actually, I’m much more intellectual in person than I am online. (Or in writing, except in my journal...)
When we were kids, we were laughed at because we didn’t know how to use single - or double - syllables...ours were complex words that were used in high school or college. But what did WE know? That’s how we talked at home, and that’s how we thought ALL homes were! (Silly us!)
Still, I like people!

You’re too kind :-). DP has been in the Knights 13 years (according to the report); he joined before Tom was born. We thought he should be involved in a group to do good works, like the Masons, who are very active out in Missouri where my Dad grew up. He’s a 4th degree Knight, so he could have a fancy outfit and sword, but he doesn’t. Maybe I’ll stick some money in a drawer and order one for his birthday. He could be in the Bishop’s honor guard when we have the Eucharistic Procession.
We only get to a few Knights events each year, but they count all our volunteer work toward the Council’s total volunteer time. And we usually have kids available to help when anything needs to be done.

Yes, that would work. I believe I’ll seek my horizontal elevation. It will make the catz happy.

Ah. Nothing more need be said, as I, too, have become victim to the soothing ministrations of CATZ! (To my sorrow!)

Thats how we talked at home, and thats how we thought ALL homes were! (Silly us!) That was me! Though a lot of mine was book knowledge (I was a VERY avid reader as a boy) so I didn't know how to pronounce some words.
Still, I like people!
So do I now, though I had a mountain-full of shyness to overcome. And even today I miss "signals"...
