When and what will it take to get rel action n Aternative energy?Nikola tesla(1856-1943) had the answer more then a 100 years ago! That of broadcasting wirelessly eletric power! He even set up a braodcasting tower for this at Wardecylle,Long Island(Now Shoreham, L.I.) But when he mentioned FREE ELECTRIOC POWER to hs financial backer the great Robber Baron J.P. Morga. Whos meatered eletric power intreste would have been ruined. The money was removed and Tesla went into a life long debt!To honor Dr. Tesla in 2005 and 2006 I organized the GLOBAL ENERGY INDPENDENCE DAY held every July 10th the birthdate anniversary of Dr tesla. To rembewr Tesla and promote ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND FUELS,VeHICLES. See the Tesla memorial Society www.teslasociety.com And Pure Energy Systems A Community Built Alternative energy site www.Peswiki.comNikola Tesla/GloBAL ENERGY INDPENDENCE DAY. No!!!!! What is neeeded is REAL ACTIO NOW!!!! Perhaps at least a Day to rember Nikola tesla And PROMTING ALTERNATIVE ENERGY is one way to do this?

It’s the only thing I can think of.
Well, maybe all the Global Warming that is saturating the “Northern Tier of States...”

Ah yes. Global Warming... I was at a green buildings conference this week. Very worrisome, some of the things that are going to be coming down. And yet not all that they’re doing is bad.

Well, I have to ALWAYS err on the side of caution: Moderation in all things.

Green is good, as long as it is used in moderation, and not as a means to a green end, where no one benefits.

Going to take a few minutes to watch a controversial video downloaded last night.

I’m back. Ugh, and ugh. I think of my Moslem friends, and of the takeover by liberals (now almost complete) of the church I was born and raised in. Not a nice juxtaposition.

I’m still with the church I was born in, though I had to make an enormous detour in order to find it again.

I had to find a church that could answer all my questions with something besides, “We’re not supposed to know that,” or “That’s a Supernatural Mystery.”

Come to find out, I was looking for a religion to fit my beliefs, and my beliefs fit in just fine. So I’m never disappointed in the direction we are going.

Moslems were never given correct information from the beginning. It’s become a “convenient religion” for those with an ax to grind, even though there are undoubtedly many who are devout without being fanatical.

I think of all the people in this world who are struggling so hard to make sure they are doing the “right things” and yet they end up being persecuted for believing in their God. That’s pretty sad.

Perhaps I should say "the church organization" because although I changed my affiliation 25 years ago, it was to an organization whose teachings, belief and overall structure are identical to the one I grew up in.

Even now we sometimes have visitors who, after the service, tear up and say, "This is just like it was!" (Of course, the "changes" started so long ago these are all older folk.)

I'm just a layman and there's much I don't know, but our "young" (my perspective) priest is a great teacher and I'm learning more.

Persecution for one's beliefs has always been a common state of affairs -- American Christians have generally become rather unaccustomed to it of late.

But this is too serious for the UT. We have more Global Warming coming down now. Might scotch my plans to plug in a bright (500W?) worklight outside to illuminate the sky for "Earth Hour" tonight (which will really annoy one house of neighbors).

Serious Global Warming here. I don’t recall quite where you are, but think it might be the same...?

Okey-doke!

I’m looking forward to your trip here, then, since we have so much in common. I understand what you’re saying. Laymen often have no point of reference, so changes are not welcomed. Others seem to think “change is good.” (BOY! Is THAT over-rated!)

Since Earth Hour is liberal, I very much doubt that Las Vegas will shut down the lights on The Strip for that hour! LOL! I for one, will turn my porch light on as soon as I get ready for bed. And I NEVER use my porch light! LOL!

Really? Blue skies here.

All the fun must be north of Seattle.

In the case of the Episcopal church, the changes were very bad. There is debate over just when things went wrong, but the institutional protections had clearly broken down when Bishop James Pike went uncorrected in the 1960s. As a layman I remained relatively ignorant of the state of affairs (despite all the ranting I heard from my father, an Episcopal minister, over the new Prayer Books, Womens' Ordination, etc.), and even welcomed some of the changes, until my first (and last) diocesan convention ca 1980. Then I saw where things were headed, and when we moved to Seattle where things had slid further... we left.

Las Vegas. Gosh, that trip is still SO far off... but I'm now almost ready with the material I've garnered in these green-building-related events and elsewhere.

OTOH, there's another conference where I might end up speaking in early May, and it *might* be in Las Vegas.

I have found FReeper get-togethers to be fun. There's always the shock of revising the mental image to the person in front of you, and we don't tend to communicate the same way in-person vs. online -- but in my experience (this includes the folks pinged here as well as the entire Puget Sound Chapter of Free Republic) they're all great folk.

Must be. Weather radar shows we have hours of this ahead. The only question is whether or not it will stick. A few more degrees colder and it will.

I saw it, thanks :-).

The Knights of Columbus gave us the Family of the Year award. And a free pasta meal. We were very surprised by the award.

Radar shows stuff to the north of me and stuff to the south. I’m in a dry pocket.

I’m also typing with just my left hand because my cat has disabled my right arm...

Let me reassure you, sion...I am, in person, as I am in email, snail mail, and chat/posts. The only time I differ from the “norm” is when I have a telephone in my hand, and then 20 years of Customer Service come to the fore, and I sound much better than I really am!

I’m probably more conservative here than in person, for the simple reason that I enjoy people, and take advantage of conversational openings, within reason. I like “sparring” and I like puns, but I always take into consideration the person I’m talking with, as well as the situation.

For what it’s worth, woman was made from Adam’s Side, so as to be protected by him, but still walk side by side, facing in the same direction. If a woman was meant to be ordained, she would have been given LOTS of testosterone!

WHOA!!! If I were Oscar Goodman, I’d award your family the Visitor Of The Year Award, and give you the Key to the City!!

GREAT! Congratulations! (I’m so happy for you!) The K’s of C are a WONDERFUL bunch!

(I don’t know what my sister would have done without them, when Mr. Redhead went to take care of the Celestial Gardens.)

At the risk of sounding idiotic...why did you allow your right arm to be disabled bby a cat?

(Inquiring minds want to know!)

Years ago when I lived in Port Townsend I could heard the Church Bells Sunday mornings. It wasn’t the church my dad was the pastor of but it got us to church on time. The bells were in an old Episcopal or Presbyterian church. They were really load when the fog was just right. I wonder if such things like church bells are still welcome there? Any of ya’ll up there still know?
