I know a combination of the heat, the ugliness, the ambiance of bluehairs, bingo, and early bird specials must be excrutiatingly hard on you, but I didn't think they could actually melt your brain like that.
The obvious point is, your "great" league (who, somehow in their "greatness" always loses to UM) had an unproven (played Memphis and Southeastern Louisiana) that was waaaay overranked. Anyone who saw that game last night dropped them out of the top 25, they just aren't very good (a charitable assessment). Sooooo, bottom line Mr genius, why was a not very good team ever ranked #4 by those oooh so amazing polls that you trust so much? I noticed you couldn't answer that one.......
You're just angry because one of your "great" teams got dumped. But don't worry, you can always get three bingo cards tonight, plus extra portions at the buffet........
Why would I be angry? It is not a team of mine that consistently schedules weak opponents then manages to lose. It is Michigan. It is not a team of mine that whines for "do-overs" and claims a right to the national championship game after losing to another over-rated "big" 10 team. It is Michigan. It is not my conference that calls itself "big", with a team that calls itself "big" playing in a stadium that is called "big." It is Michigan. "Big" ego, little else.
Rather than call itself "big", the SEC just wins national championships. BCS. BCS. BCS. Three in a row. It speaks for itself. See you at season's end if you can crawl out from behind that pile of crow you are annually forced to consume.
Probably because UM continually cleans the clock of your "powerhouse teams". No matter how you ignore it, you seem to always lose. No matter how much strutting you do with your "great league", you just lose........and the frustration continues.........I do feel bad for your predicament.......the crow feathers just keep inserting themselves......
*Abbreviated history of pups anger*
January 2000, Alabama considered best team in nation; UM wins.
January 2003; UM defeats Floriduh in spite of award winning QB.
January 2007; Another Floriduh award QB bites dust against UM.
Is there a pattern here? Oops, why it's 11 and 2. Sounds less like a pattern and more like domination to me...........but there's always that extra bingo card you can buy, plus those early bird specials must be salve for the pain.........
:-)
By the way you must be truly proud of "big" blooze for having squeaked by unranked Indiana, giving up only 467 yards to Indiana in the "big" house, an Indiana team that had barely managed to win against such powerhouses as Eastern Michigan, Western Kentucky and Akron.
More "meaningless" polls this week:
(1) Florida 4-0 (2) Texas 4-0 (3) Alabama 4-0 (4) LSU 4-0
Notice a trend here?
Anger and disappointment..........The only trends poor pup understands..............11 and 2 baby.........
To be fair, sharky is not the only Big Blue fan with "rankings sensitivity disorder". Apparently, a majority of the fan base up there has the same affliction and seem to think their losses should be rewarded. I'm remembering a loss to #1 The Ohio State a couple of years back (2006?). They lost the ball game! They lost but for some reason thought they shouldn't suffer a drop in the "rankings". It isn't simply that it matters so much to UM fans about a loss to their conference rival The Ohio State, they actually expect writers, coaches, pundits and fans around the country to care, too.
Maybe we should 'splain that it might matter if ever that game actually establishes a serious contender for a BCS title.
:)
cp, I'm not too excited about our kitties facing your dawgs this weekend. BTW, did I mention that I have a niece attending Georgia this year? Her brother is at Ole Miss, you can imagine what topic we'll avoid discussing over Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Sharky, congratulations, y'all now have a QB who, if he stays healthy, might improve Big Blue's stats for the next year or two. :)
If so, why are ya'll 11 and 2 against UM? Why did UM beat up mighty Floriduh in 2008, and virtually every other game?
Tautaulogy: OSU can't win against the SEC, The SEC can't win against UM, UM can't seem to beat OSU (lately). Odd but true.
Darlin' I'm afraid that you have gone and hurt lil' sharkey's feelings now, talking about how sensitive that whole "big" 10 crowd is.
I guess that with all that bloated ego demonstrated by calling themselves "big" all the time they just can't be expected to see what the rest of the nation sees: the "big" 10 ain't so big. In fact were it not for the glitter on Ohio State's helmets, no one in that sisterhood of weak teams would hardly ever be noticed.
May I suggest "big" 10 football? That turkey of a conference is always good for a few laughs.
Come on, sharky, snap out of it. You’re talking history, past glories and all that stuff. Its time to move on, precious one.
Yes. I'm sure the poll folk just overlooked that meaningless statistic. If only they had known.
On the other hand, Sharklet, you somehow but quite conveniently managed to overlook Alabama at number 3. Their very first opponent this year was # 7 ranked Virginia Tech which, despite having lost to Alabama is ranked # 6 now, three places above THE Ohio State Glitterheads, seven places above the Iowannabees "we can beat anybody named Penn State", nine ahead of the State Penn Penn State Cadavers,, and sixteen places above the Wolverettes.
Amazing how undefeated (but clueless) "big" bloop is ranked beneath eleven teams that have a loss. Wonder why?
Helpful hint: Try every now and then to schedule a real opponent.
S-s-s-s-i-g-h. Aaaaw, my goodness, I'm sorry, sharky. Truly. :(
psssst, cp, its still true.
FOFLOL. Excellant!
Exactly. Crawl out of that MGoBlue dumpster, Sharkey. Everything in there is well past its prime.
Smooch.
Past glories? You mean Georgia Tech and LSU presumably. Oops. Spoke too soon, LSU is about two weeks from being past its glory. Untested, and ranked #4, a recipe for disaster on its way. Tech, heck all they do is drink, swear, and proudly lose.
:-)
Of the other two, Florida may well deserve to be in the top, but they still haven't played anyone good.
As to scheduling worthy opponents, I believe the only one who did so in your "great league" was Bama, moron.......I realize Charleston Southern and Troy are really good in your book.......but hey........
Reminder: If you think the "poll folk" are so good, why didn't Ga win last year? Why didn't Alabama win last year against obviously lower ranked Utah? And since we're talking polls, how'd that UM/Floriduh match up go in 2008? They're obviously soooooo smart, just like catpoopy is......
From Rivals.com today. Yep, those polls are so worth the faith you put in them: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Pollin-At-what-point-do-coaches-start-caring-w;_ylt=AlhQ_llEP8ZlaJLZwH6gYCEcvrYF?urn=ncaaf,192646
Hey, I don’t necessarily disagree with parts of that article either.... except.... I doubt that Hinton, a blogging Monday morning quarterback is a better judge of talent than experienced coaches and sports writers.
