A Nubian was somebody from Nubia - from the Ancient Egyptian word “nb’ meaning gold as that area was a source of gold. It corresponded to modern day Sudan. Nubian was later used to refer to any black African as opposed to Egyptians and Berbers who werer not black.

During most of the Ancient Egyptian period however, Nubia was referred to as Kush and the inhabitants as Kushites. So I think Nubian was a later Egyptian term for the same people.

Actually, that’s the best scene in the entire movie. I’m not 100% sure that it’s worth watching the entire movie for that one scene though...
