There is this classic Hollywood redemption story that revolves around bad girls finally crashing, disappearing from sight for a year, then re-emerging ‘straight’ and becoming even bigger stars because the public gets invested in their success. I suppose that’s another scenario.
I worked with a lot of stars who had similar personalities and were on the same path that Brit’s on. Most of them had the same sort of series of gradual progressions. I never saw one turn around ‘til they crashed. Just too much ego, self-indulgence, and isolation from reality there.
Remember the really pretty girl who was in some Elvis movies, then became a nun? She still is. But, I don’t think she was “bad” or self-destructive to begin with - I just always admired her for “getting away.”
Can’t think of her name - maybe Hart?
