They are the nifty new ~airweight~ model.
I carried the same old steel one since I was issued one in the CG. But there’s been some great improvements over the years. Lately I’ve gotten a new one, the airweight with the rubberized handle.
The airweight is all aluminum, except for the last center rod which is steel. It makes it remarkably light, which was a real pain in the old ones. They were heavy and no fun to carry in a pocket.
These new ones, especially the little 16” number... have almost no weight to them and easily slip in a pocket with your keys. But they still zip out in a second and with that tip-heavy feel it’ll still snap a bone easily. Or disable an elbow, or render hand bones incapable of holding a knife... Stuff like that.
You know... happy things. :-)

That’s just beautiful.
mmmm warm fuzzies
Drat! The fact that my wife did not know about those shows I am a poor husband. Time to go back to the toy store.
She is sick in bed this morning :(
*snort*
That was sheer poetry...
[sniff}, everybody missed my bad pun.
I have have an old-time DDR/Stasi spring sap. Three nested sets of coil springs, with a big steel knob on the end. Heavy, but it also works in cramped quarters, like inside cars. I keep it in the door pocket of my truck.
Typical German over-engineering, but not pocket-friendly. I'll have to look at an ASP as a supplement.
