The movies aren’t really Hollywood, in any case. Hollywood would like to claim ‘em now that they’ve been so successful, but...
Good evening!
Nice new thread!
Nursing supervisor tried to pull a stunt with me tonight. I became amazingly obstinate. For the first time I didn’t think “I’m gonna quit.” This time I thought “That’s not going to happen so you might as well fire me.”.
Heh heh!
See, I like the job. I don’t want to quit. But I’m not going to let them jerk me around just because I’m new.
They shouldn’t try to give me patients, then take them away and give me a new set in the middle of the shift. That’s happened to me before and that just don’t fly. There were nurses coming on could take that other set of patients and they needed to leave me alone with the ones I had.
I said so. And she didn’t mention it again. She left me alone and I did my job well. It dawned on me that there is no way they’re going to fire me. I’m a dream nurse...I “want” to come in for four hour shifts to fill in till another nurse comes on...I’ll do it every day if they need me.
The tide has turned.
