Well, here’s the latest info on my BP. The doctor told me today that she has checked me for everything she can think of and is now going to send me to a nephrologist (kidney doctor). Blood pressure is normally controlled by your kidneys and she just feels like something is going on there.
If after he assesses me, he can find nothing wrong, then she’ll send me to a cardiologist. I don’t know what they’ll look for, but she said she just doesn’t know what else to do.
She released me to go back to work and when I went by Employee Health to turn in the release, they assessed me and found my BP was 194/104. The physician came in and talked to me at length...he said it sounded like a condition called pheochromocytoma. I was tested for that but he said I might have to do that test repeatedly to catch it. We’ll see.
He told me I could go back to work on a trial basis...to take it easy. So I went and spoke to my supervisor and she suggested I only work four hours at a time a couple of times a week. That’s perfect.
The physician at Employee Health told me something too, that I didn’t know. He said that when I came in for my New Employee physical in December, my BP at that time was 166/85. That was HIGH for me...and would’ve caught my attention right then if I’d known.
Keep taking care of it 2J... We don’t want you ‘ploding on the thread.
Well...at least you have a referral, huh? :-\ Seems like they took a long time to do that. Nephrologist sounds like a good bet. Do you have an appointment made?
Take it easy!
Ya know... I do not like this high bp situation... not one little bit. Hugs-n-prayers till this gets corrected.
