The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

It’s still better than a Molecule. :~) And at least it’s four wheel drive.

But you can’t say “I’m in my Element”...

Honestly, when it actually comes right down to it, I’ll probably try to find a Honda Civic or something like that...small four-door car with just enough of a back seat that I can transport Cisco when I need to.

The others are cool...but you pay for cool. I don’t *need* another big vehicle, either, which is what the Element would be (though actually it’s more tall than really big - still, it’s not gonna have little-car gas mileage). And although I’ve been in enough Subarus and known enough Subaru owners to know the AWD thing is actually very nifty, even just on wet roads...I don’t *have* to have it. I’d just like to have it, if I could find an outstanding deal.

But there’s still a little voice in my head that says, “you’ve driven a *mini-van* for over five years, for heaven’s sake - live a little!”

Well, maybe Ramius would sell you his Mustang... it’s just sitting in the garage. Of course... it’s not really one to get for great mileage...

Ha! Or wet roads.

And if I wanted to take Cisco along, I’d have to strap him to the roof. This would be difficult...

heh. No, it ain’t about mileage, that one. Though, it gets better MPG than the Jeep does. That one *really* ain’t about mileage.

Mornin’ folkses...

LOL! I forgot about that!

That complicates matters still further...

I could lash him to the antenna, maybe?

There’s a back seat in it... You just have to keep him from jumping out. And get him some goggles.

That’s about it. ;-)

I could crochet him a matching hat and scarf, too.
