I really *REALLY* wish technically capable writers would stop calling flash memory a "drive". It is no such thing. The marketing folks selling flash memory use the term "drive" for the masses who couldn't grasp what it does otherwise, but I think the usage should be discouraged over time.
Talking about a 4Gb flash memory as a "hard drive" is just plain false. "Hard drive" means something specific, and flash memory isn't it.
This goes onto my infamous list with terms like "DSL modem" and "cable modem", which are other misnomers of market-speak parentage. Both of these are network adapters, but do no MOdulating or DEModulating--the meaning of the acronym MODEM--at all.
Down with misuse of English!

OK...I like the term DASD better than hard drive,,..../dasd stands for Direct Access Storage Device....used in the early days of the main frame world when the Ramac appeared as the first DASD...to distinguish it from Tape Drives which were a NON Direct Access Storage Device......
