Was 2007 a good year for live music? Please list and/or discuss any music acts you attended this year.
I never get to as many shows as I'd like, but here are the ones I saw this year:

I work down the hall from “Jimmy”.
Big Brother & The Holding Company toured this year and existed as that lineup I think going back to even before Janis joined. I think it was at least 3 or 4 original members.
I saw a real good show from Dylan on tour with Paul Simon. His set was much better than Simon’s. I’d never seen either before. I caught Dylan again at the Rodeo in the Astrodome (YEARS ago) and the accoustics are never that great there, and he wasn’t in good voice on that show.
But I’d say that he’s still CAPABLE of giving a good show even if they are inconsistent from night to night/tour to tour.
He had Charlie Sexton in his band at that point.
There were upwards of 2,000 bands at SXSW this year in Austin. Don’t ask me to even try to compile a list.
But I did see the Buddy Holly’s Crickets (all 3 original). Sonny West (who wrote Rave On) played at the same event in Green Bay but they didn’t share the stage.

Total spent on concert tickets: about $20-$25. I got into the majority of those shows for free one way or another. I was supposed to go to Warped Tour (also would have been free, and with essentially a backstage pass), but some vehicle breakdowns prevented me from making it.
I also saw Rent and Phantom of the Opera. They were both really good shows.
I,unlike some,have never been a big fan of just about anything he did after Nashville Skyline.Yes,I'm a conservative who *loves* the folk music of the early/mid 60's and particularly love Dylan's first half dozen or so albums.And given that he pretty much stopped doing that stuff about 40 years ago I guess I was bound to be disappointed.
I guess it just comes down to "whatever floats your boat".
I'm not familiar with any of the names you quoted.
Most of the artists I like are fairly obscure.
The Australian bands free daytime showcase was great. Older acts like The Hoodoo Gurus and Beasts of Bourbon played on a bill with newer acts like Airbourne. Plus there was plenty of free beer, wine, and BBQ.
I also caught a free 4 song set plus interview with The Stooges (they interviewed Iggy Pop for a Seattle radio show) at the Austin City Limits studio.
I can’t say that I learned of many bands I didn’t already know about but I did get to see bands that I’d never seen play live and that goes for new acts as well as older ones.
Did he rant during the show or just in inteviews used to promote the show?
Complete stupidity on his part.
I love how these guys don't mind taking money from "evil Americans", but continue to say how bad we are.
Had I known his politics I would have stayed home, but I took my son, who had never seen such a concert.
