I was 4 and even at that age I was excited about this stuff. Ya gotta figure that the whole world was excited about it and most American kids were encouraged to be excited and proud about it.

Coincidentally, I was searching for this broadcast clip a week ago and found it on YouTube :) There is a version of it on an old DOS "game" from the late 80's called
Space Adventure: With Buzz Aldrin & Tom McDonough which overlays "Silent Night" in the background as the Apollo 8 Astronauts read the Scripture .... just beautiful, simply beautiful :)

I was 14 at the time, and we were at a big family get-together for the holiday... I remember all the activity in the house stopped and everything was quiet as we were all transfixed on the TV.
