If it wasn't for the two losses USC would have made a great BCS Championship team.
When one team has no losses and another team 2 it is unfair to penalize the players of the undefeated team for what was beyond their control.
“However, Hawaii wanted to play them this year and they wouldn’t go for it.”
Are you kidding me? Schedules are made several years in advance, first of all. This past season, USC wanted to get out of their game with Idaho, a game only granted to Idaho when a former USC assistant took the head coaching job there in 2004. They had no takers, and they ran through the SEC looking for one. USC routed Hawaii both times they played them a couple years back, and Hawaii had good seasons both years. Before you criticize USC, who plays anyone anywhere, why don’t you run through the list of teams that never venture out of their conference to play dangerous passing teams like Hawaii. Over the past four seasons, USC’s non-conference schedule has included Nebraska twice, Auburn twice, Arkansas twice, Notre Dame four times, Fresno State, Hawaii twice, Virginia Tech, and they have won EVERY GAME. But they ‘ducked’ Hawaii. What a joke of a statement.
