#1 Missouri is losing decisively.
#2 West Virginia has lost.
Now who deserves to play #3 Ohio State in the national championship game?
LSU? USC? Georgia? Oklahoma? There seems to be no obvious answer.
USC!
Fight On.
Who ever it is, we will see them here for the Rose Bowl.
Should be Oklahoma and Ohio State. Oklahoma was just one play (QB concussion against Texas Tech) from being in the final.
You could always give us (Illinois) another shot at them. ;-)
I guess with tickets sales, etc, we will go with Ohio State.
To bad for Hawaii, our son is going there for football.
Well I think obviously it is going to be Georgia and Ohio St. Yet, the SEC Championship was today and Georgia wasn’t in it. A case could be made for Kansas, although the Big 12 championship was today and they weren’t in it. I think whatever they do is going to be controversial and more so than any years in the past I can recall. The SEC was absolutely loaded this year. There are 4 teams in the SEC that could have emerged undefeated in many of the major conferences this year. I think this year may be the straw that will break the big-money bowl committees, camel-backs.
The close but no cigar defense.
The close but no cigar defense.
LOL.
I think the answer is fairly obvious. If Hawaii beats Washington tonight, they should be playing for the national championship.
They’ve already proven themselves in this crazy year by being the only undefeated team standing, and they did such by defeating a very good Boise State team.
Hawaii (pending a victory tonight) v. Ohio State.
Any other selection is a disgrace, IMHO.
And I say that as an SEC guy.
How many times has a top three team lost this year..alot of number ones have lost
GO BUCKS!!!!!
They also lost to a very poor Colorado team. That takes them out of the equation as far as I am concerned. The had a shot, they blew it.
Will the BUCKS be in the national championship game or a bowl game?
I’ll go with Georgia vs Ohio State. Ohio State ranked 3rd this week and Georgia 4th.
Ohio State should move to #1 and Georgia #2. All the “real experts” are pushing for LSU.
Georgia has won the last 6 games and have beaten 4 ranked teams. Why should they not play in the BCS Championship game?
Anyone?
I think you have to go for Kansas ahead of Georgia with only one loss. And that loss being at the hands of Missouri.
LSU did beat Tennessee today, so I’d go for them ahead of Georiga, as well—even if we did GIVE the freaking game to them. :( Rrrrr.....
I still say you have to take Hawaii here if they win. It’s just blatant injustice not to. They tried scheduling big out of conference match-ups, and teams won’t play them.
As an SEC guy you know there are about 2 teams in the SEC Hawaii could beat. Vanderbilt and Mississippi. They played pushovers and the BCS won’t put them in the position to win a National Championship. Boise St, didn’t play anyone either, unless you count Washington and then they got beat quite easily.
4 #1’s & 6 #2’s
I would think that Georgia would go up to the #2 slot since they are currently number 4. Ohio State is currently #3 and would become #1 after today.
>>Georgia has won the last 6 games and have beaten 4 ranked teams. Why should they not play in the BCS Championship game?<<
Because LSU has beaten 6 ranked teams, won the SEC title today, and has one more win with the same number of losses (2).
Or because Hawaii is undefeated.
Georgia has played very well, I would not want to play them. I think what all this is going to boil down to is: We need a playoff.
