I would stop short of calling UFO’s extra terrestrial until clear and convincing evidence confirmed that. However, I find it very disturbing, indeed, that every report of UFO sightings is reported by newscasters with a snide smile on their faces, as if they know the truth and can easily laugh at the poor fools who made the report. If they can explain what was sighted, let them do so. If not, wipe the smiles off and seek and explanation. Seems simple, doesn’t it?
About the media reporting the way they do, it's been that way for a long time. There are cases on record of the FCC actually threatening the licenses of stations who were about to air series ufo stories.
The humor keeps the giggle factor going and pushes people like this to the fringe kook, tin-foil hat status rather than have to face the fact that science should be looking at this topic.
Forge space aliens, what if it is top secret tech, why is is buzzing airliners, etc?
NORAD has an abundance of uncorrelated targets every day on their radars? Lets start by IDing those. IMO
