Yeah, but has anyone found the recipe for ‘garum’ the delicious sauce made from rotten fish?
I think it was a specialte’ de la maison that was used over likker fish, a prized species that swam in the Tiber where the sewers drained.

archeologists had assumed ans there is the whole ball of wax re archaeologists and scientists = they are not supposed to "assume" - which can short circuit what they may find and ignore...
They are supposed to be searching and then take whatever they find and go from there...
