The I69 project is the new TTC project, not 'routine work on existing highways' as you claim.

That's been debunked already. The money allocated to the TTC was for studies, not actual construction. And allocating money for the study is an excellent idea, because it brings it out into the open to the public. Would you rather have it done behind closed doors?

Everyone should read the article and see how dishonest you have been.

First, I posted what came up in the Google results, secondly, the use of 'dishonest' is kind of interesting. I am showing the difference in actions versus words. I do suggest that everyone read the article and look at his actions and decide for themselves. What you call a non-controversial road project is, specifically I69, guess what, I69 does not exist in Texas yet. I69 is the TTC. The only leway I will grant you on that comment is that you were looking at the first item on the list (the 100k maintenance) and not the second item (the 13Million for I69 Planning- not routine maintenance)

Right now, most of I69 doesn't exist, it is I59. I drive it almost weekly and I see signs like the second one, I69 coming soon. You don't have routine maintenance on something that doesn't exist.

$13 Million to bring it out to the public? Great use of taxpayer's money. At least you acknowledge it is for the TTC, unlike others. And I will give you, as I stated in another post, his intentions may have been to pay the architects to go ahead and do their planning studies hoping it would be killed. Sure is a lot of money just to bring something to light. I wonder how much it would cost to actually design that stretch if it costs as much as $13Million to just expose it to the public.

"You seem to think that foreign policy is a litmus test for conservatism. Taken to the logical conclusion, would you consider Bill Clinton to be "conservative"? President Bush?"

According to the definition of some here, Hillary is a true conservative. *can't stop laughing*

I'm truly amazed at what is going on right now. In fact, the absurdity of some of the comments and attitudes here leave me speechless. I've seen posts (or posting of pictures) mocking those who go by the constitution. I've seen absolutely ridiculous and ignorant comments about Dr. Paul - that are so stupid all I can do is laugh.

And meanwhile, these same people will probably end up supporting Guiliani (if he gets the nomination)- a pro-abortion, anti-gun, open borders globalist, who is a liberal with an R by his name... and they're calling those who support Ron Paul DUmmies? LOL!!! Oh gosh.... the irony. Too much.

Well it's not like we're filling potholes here, or resurfacing a street in some inner-city.

At least you acknowledge it is for the TTC, unlike others.

Yes it is, and I don't see what the big deal is. Paul was just doing his Congressional duties here, and besides, I would rather have it brought out into the open for public scrutiny than negotiated in some smoky backroom. Now if you can find some quotes of Paul on record of supporting the NAU or TTC, please post them. Otherwise it's more straw-grasping.

Side note, all fair arguments, thank you for discussing like an adult (as you always do).

The big difference is between our two views on Paul seems to be that, because of what Paul has said on the war and the stance he takes there, I don’t trust just words from him any more. We probably will keep talking in circles because I know I’ll keep posting funding bills and you’ll keep posting speeches. I do know that this (TTC funding) isn’t just my view, I got this from the Houston Chronicle and have also seen it on WND, Corridor Watch and even on RonPaulForums they said it is an issue that ‘we shouldn’t touch’..

As you know, frankly, I just don’t trust the guy any more. I am sure he was everything people give him credit for, back in the 1980s, but now, he seems to have sold his soul to the ‘neocons are running everything’ crowd.

Will Dhimmis be allowed to fly on airplanes after he’s surrendered to the Jihadis? (But then again, Dhimmis aren’t allowed to be armed, so I guess that it’s a moot point.)

You are certainly free not to support him, to be sure.

Wow...mnehrling got permission from a Paulie not to support him.

Now, we just have to get that Paulenati approval for your tagline. I wonder how many chains of command that has to ascend?

;-)

...I have been willing to give the Administration a pass on the original decision to attack Iraq in 2003.

I just heard the giant sigh of relief from the Pentagon and White House all the way to here!

They've been waiting for you to give them that pass.

Betcha General Petraeus is going to be in a good mood today!

Right you are. But me? I would have just flushed my donation down the toilet and saved the postage.
