Erg. Snow up to the eaves, huh?
We lived in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1977-78. Had so much snow that we had to wait for someone to show up, tapping on the *upstairs* windows, and offering to dig us out for a consideration.
Mom, my brother, and I spent four days sitting in the kitchen with the stove on for heat, playing Monopoly! Dad was stuck at Naval War College, sleeping in a sleeping bag on a hall floor, until enough roads were plowed to get home.
That sounds bad.
We don't usually get snow like that, unless it is a really bad winter, once every 10-15 years.
