Hah! The one North American committee that I am
not on is trying to "take over" other committees, including my European committee.
My employer agrees: next year I need to be elected to the BoD of this committee.

The article’s author (not the originator of the quote) observed that all committees are always trying to expand beyond their intended purview. The Parish Festival Committee may be a long way from ready to take over the world, but it only takes a couple of meetings before it’s pushing the boundaries in some way!
