I had unexpected company, or I would have cut most of that off at the pass. I’m sure my uninterrupted presence would have made quite a difference. However, water under the bridge, but thanks for being concerned.
You’re a good man to have around!
Blush. I try. I can be very trying.
Yahbut...after all these years, I’ve gotten used to you!
And I wouldn’t change a thing about you!
I plan to get the lighter thingy in the next day or two, but thought of going to Camping World to see if they have a 9V heating pad. I can pull up the website and find out, or make a call, as there are two of them here in the Valley, one about two miles from here.
Either way, I’ll let you know how it all shakes out. I think if my bottom were warm, I wouldn’t be so miserable doing my errands.
A 9V heating pad? As in runs off a 9V battery? Too little energy in such a thing to do much good.
I have one (have had it for years) that's in the 40 watt range. It's been surprisingly practical.
I suggested 300 to 350 because it's a good universally useful size that is offered at a good discount these days.
You can use your inverter and a 12V source for a variety of things, including operating your laptop, a string of low-wattage lamps, or even small appliances. Plus, they cost little more than dedicated inverters in lower wattage ranges.
If you're the type who keeps an emergency battery charging battery in your trunk, adding a pound or two for AC electricity anywhere seems sensible.
Maybe if I put my backpack in a rollaboard...
Something that runs off a car battery.
I’ll check with Camping World and let y’all know.
Wow! Looks like I missed the excitement. Had some excitement of my own today...the cops knocked on my door with hands on guns...my “friend” had called them to see if they could get his stuff for him...I said no and they went away.
Now I’m just waiting for the locksmith to re-key the front door...

That’s as close as I could come, but I may just get it.
I missed part of the excitement, too, as I had company right in the middle of it all! LOL!
Anyway, all’s well that ends.
Hey! I have a spare doorknow/lockset! They take the same key. (Darned if I can recall the lock name...*sheesh* I hate when my brain leaves...)
Of course, I can’t get it to you by tomorrow...
That would be kind of a problem...
Can’t leave until the lock’s changed.
A bit of repacking and everything fits, but am checking company policies w/r/t laundry.
Dang. Well, I have a full tank of gas...I could...nah...I’d have to stay in the middle of San Berdoo until I could earn enough for gas to get the rest of the way...never mind...
;o]
You know...despite having the cops sicked on me today, I don’t feel half bad. The Jalapeno burger I just had doesn’t hurt either.
Man, I hate packing like that.
When I went to Pak, I had SpaceBags, and with my little rolaboard and backpack, I had enough clothes to last 10 days. There was a laundry down the street, so that took care of the other 10 days.
I kept the rolaboard in the overhead until I got to Heathrow on the way home, and they said it had to go in the hold. I was NOT a happy camper.
Of course, coming home, I had to buy a new suitcase...
I always figure that a person chooses the way s/he will react to any given situation. If you want to be upset at something, you will be.
I used to get upset over things when I was younger, but I decided that I was not going to stress over something I couldn’t change, no matter how terrible it was.
So now, people think I have no feelings, or they think I’m “covering up.” Nope. I just don’t choose to react.
And if I liked jalapenos, I’d probably feel good after eating them in a burger. But I’d rather have chocolate!
Whoa!
