We’ll aim for that. Tom is *very intense*, and tends to block out any input that isn’t what he wants to receive. I’m sure this will be a good point sometime in life :-).

I used to say about Anoreth, when she was 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.: “Someday the fact that she’s so incredibly determined that she will ignore any influences opposed to her goals will be a Good Thing.” We’ve reached that point! She knows what she wants - and what she wants is reasonable and morally appropriate - and she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks or does.

One of my best friends from college spent 9 months in India as a technical trainer with some oil industry contractor. She had a very good time, in spite of the difficulties of a totally alien place!

I think Huber has been to India. I remember giving him a magazine that told where to dine in Bangalore. Perhaps he has some useful advice, like where to find a nice Anglican church on Sunday :-).

I’m glad you are getting precipitation, TC.

I’m off for the night, have a good evening everyone.

Life is good.

:-)

Good for Anoreth! (A girl after me own heart!)

I went to Wal-Mart today, to see what I could get in the way of sales. No crowds, by now, of course, so it was “safe.”

I found a really nice white knit “seasonal” vest, poinsiettas, beads, sequins, etc. Originally $18.99...today ~ $4.73. And a red and green fleece throw for $2.50. I may have to go back and get a second throw.... ;o]

Good night, and rise again tomorrow! I got a Christmas letter from Tulsa today; the family went without electricity for 9 days. She said her son’s Boy Scout experience was very helpful :-).

Wow! I should go look for some beaded Christmas/winter outfits at the sales. My Weight Watchers leader was wearing a nice white sweater with gold-bead snowflakes last night.

I saw a couple of other things I liked but the sweater vest was waiting for me...I had singled it out before Christmas, and though I was hoping for the poinsietta design, I would have taken one of the others. They even had one that looked like denim...I might go back in the morning....

Since I can’t afford that stuff before Christmas, so I just wait till a couple of days after, and head for the racks. The throw was planned, but at $2.50, I had to get it. I’m never warm enough, these days.

Vests are about the only “Christmasy” things I buy, but I’m open for sweatshirts, too, if the prices are low enough.

I used to have a poinsettia sweatshirt, but the fabric paint holding the flowers on didn’t stand up to the washer.

I’ll go look for something this weekend, maybe. I usually don’t do “seasonal,” unless someone gives me something.

I usually wash my clothes in cold water on the delicate cycle, and don’t dry anything in the dryer but sheets, towels and other fluffy stuff. I know that may not work for you, but I have clothes that I bought when I was working, and they still look relatively new.

If it’s a sweatshirt with a design on it, like applique or embroidery, I always turn it inside out to wash.

I can’t recall the last time I washed anything in hot water.

But the turkey is good! Not a big one, but a good one!

We do smaller ones when it's just two of us.

That would be interesting! I am returning to Bangalore (after my one-day visit two years ago).

I wonder about the presence of Anglican churches in India. (Next month I hope to meet in person an Anglican archbishop who emigrated to the US from India.)

This one was 13#. I would have been happy with a small roasting hen (about 3#,) but I'll just share this turkey.

It's the least I can do. ;o]

And with that, I'm off to bed. It's been a strange day, and the fever and chills are back. Maybe I'll have some tea, then go to bed. Y'all be good!

I’m sorta back.
Curious as to the reception the grandkids gave to the tale of Anti-Claus.

Blackout drive only works for vehicles, not internet connections.

Howzit, darkguys? We’ve been drinking wine and practicing Spanish Christmas music for Sunday. I’m a little fuddled, linguistically and otherwise.

Did I put the wash in the dryer?

Maybe the wine went to your head. Spanish Christmas music? Sounds interesting. Hopefully the wash went in the dryer and not in the cosmic void lol.
